The AIAA Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Student Branch (AIAA HKUST) is the first student branch of AIAA set up in Hong Kong. Initiated by the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at HKUST in 2013, the student-led branch aims to motivate, inspire, and develop students from all disciplines to enter the aviation industry, and create a platform to foster interaction between students and professionals in the industry.
To achieve these goals, the student branch provides regular firm visits to companies in the aviation industry, providing a first-hand experience to interested students. In addition, the student branch also hosts regular presentations with distinguished aviation professionals, which are open for the public to attend.
Once a year, the Student Branch organizes an exchange tour overseas for engineering students. In the past, the Student Branch has visited Singapore, Mainland China, Japan, and South Korea.
